Lifestyle: Man got pregnant and gave birth to his daughter because his wife could not get pregnant

Image
A while back the news of a pregnant man who eventually gave birth to his child made headlines. The man has now revealed how he carried and gave birth to his daughter and the reason he did that. Chris Rehs-Dupin, 33, made for a unique sight when he sported beards and a protruding belly that could not simply be explained off as a beer belly. He carried the pregnancy to term, gave birth and even breastfed her and his reason for going through all that is because his wife could not fall pregnant. Chris had been born a female, Christina. He then met his wife Amy, 33, when they were both in their 20s and working at a children's summer camp and they fell in love immediately. They got into a civil partnership in October 2012 and legally married in 2013 then decided they wanted a family. The plan was for Amy to be the biological mother but after five attempts of intrauterine insemination failed, Chris, who was at the time a pre-op transgender, volunteered to carry their child. After five r

The US Food and Drug Administration confirms that Nine deaths have been reported stemming from a rare cancer that is associated with breast implants. The extremely rare cancer, called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) affects cells in the immune system and can be found around the breast implant. It can be found in the skin or lymph nodes, and is not a type of breast cancer. The FDA says "all of the information to date suggests that women with breast implants have a very low but increased risk of developing ALCL compared to women who do not have breast implants". Yesterday, the FDA issued an update on its understanding of breast implant-associated ALCL cases. The agency has received 359 reports of possible breast implant-associated cancer cases as of February 1. But the exact number of cases "remains difficult to determine due to significant limitations in world-wide reporting and lack of global implant sales data,". Breast implants is the top cosmetic surg

Image
After yesterday's terror attack in London, US First son, Donald Trump Jr reacted negatively when he read the headline and shared an Independent article titled: Sadiq Khan: 'London mayor says terror attacks 'part and parcel' of living in a major city.' .He tweeted: “You have to be kidding me?!” “Terror attacks are part of living in big city, says London Mayor Sadiq Khan.” The only problem is this article was written in September of last year about Mr. Khan’s reaction to the bombing in New York City. The article was a plea from the Mayor for Londoners to be vigilant to the dangers of living in a big city. Business: Emerging market currencies prosper as US dollar falters

Investors look beyond risk of globalization and oil going the wrong way Markets now and again behave in ways least expected, none more so than the resilience of emerging market currencies against the US dollar. Two of the main factors underpinning EM foreign exchange flows — globalization and oil — are going the wrong way. Globalization looks more vulnerable than ever following the G20 finance ministers’ meeting that pointedly failed to include the need to fight protectionism in its communique. Meanwhile, the oil price is under pressure from excessive stockpiles and the resurgence in the US shale industry. By rights, EM currencies should be suffering as the Federal Reserve remains on course for further tightening, while Treasury yields remain elevated despite coming off in the past week. That has prompted some traders to wonder whether conditions are similar to the 2013 “taper tantrum” when elevated yields drove investors out of EM in an unseemly rush. As Brad Bec

He then allegedly told his partner that “the werewolf is coming at 12:00pm”. The court heard how nearing midnight he said “that’s it b****, I am going to kill you”, before he fetched a jerry can of petrol and entered his daughters’ room. He then poured petrol over the younger child and set her alight before dousing the older child without lighting her up. His partner tendered a statement to the court which said Herbert had

Business: Gold, Silver Prices Find Further Support from Weak US Dollar

Image
Last week, we expressed our view that  precious metals looked at risk of a rebound  on a bearishly postured US dollar heading into the  FOMC  announcement. As anticipated, USD got crushed and gold/silver prices ripped. Resistance in gold around the 1217 line wasn’t even a nuisance, and has now become a line of possible support. The 17/17.30 area in silver was initially shredded in the 24-hrs after the Fed, but overall silver isn’t acting as well as gold. Nevertheless, support may be found in the low-17s. Gold: Daily Created with TradingView Silver: Daily Created with TradingView The outlook at the moment for precious metals is a little murky on this end. So, we’ll turn to the US dollar for some clarity, where conviction on direction is higher. The US Dollar Index (DXY) broke sharply last week and given the proximity of support (~99.25/98.75) there is room for the dollar to weaken further. Image
A former Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Sen. Florence Ita-Giwa, has cautioned the senate against making the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, a superstar following the rejection of his confirmation. The Senate had for the second time failed to confirm the acting chairman of EFCC as a result of reports from the Department of State Service. She, however, said that President Muhammadu Buhari could present Magu up to four times to the Senate for confirmation. In an interview on Saturday, Ita-Giwa, who spoke on allegations of Magu’s integrity, cautioned the upper legislative chamber to be careful in order not to make the acting chairman of EFCC a superstar out of sympathy from the populace. Ita-Giwa noted that scenario at the moment was a no-win situation between the executive and legislative arms. “We have to be careful because the world is watching us. Shoki singer, Lil Kesh, has said that there are a lot of sly people in the entertainment industry. The former YBNL-signee said that not everyone who comes around you to smile and hang out really wants the best for you. He told Sunday Scoop, “There are lots of fake people in this industry. When they see you doing well, they would come around you. But what they are really after is the fame and the fortune they think you have and they wouldn’t think twice about betraying you. I have seen a lot of such people in the industry and I can’t tolerate them because I have no time for fake love.” Asked if he had ever been betrayed by someone close to him in the music industry, he said, “It has never happened to me and that is because I deliberately keep my circle small. Most of the people around me now are the ones that I knew from way back. I’m not saying that it’s bad to make friends but one just has to be careful and smart in the process.” The rapper who is also rocking a new hairstyle

News:President Buhari can re-nominate Magu for confirmation as EFCC boss – Ndume

Image
The Chairman Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, says President Muhammadu Buhari can re-present Ibrahim Magu for confirmation as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the Senate. He said the president, having earlier cleared Magu based on a report by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami should go ahead to stand by his conviction that the Acting Chairman of EFCC committed no infraction contrary to the allegations leveled against him by the DSS. Ndume stated this in an interview on a television station yesterday. He said his support for Magu to continue to head the EFCC was not because he had any personal interest in him, but because of the need to sustain the momentum on the anti-corruption battle he has been fighting. The former Senate majority leader said President Buhari should never allow any form of compromise on his commitment to the fight against corrupt
