Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has revealed that washing just once a week is the secret to staying young. Speaking after the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Spring/ Summer 2018 show during Paris Fashion Week, the 76-year-old advised that people shouldn’t “wash too much” when reporters asked about her youthful appearance. Her husband, Kornthaler, 51, then interjected saying, “She only takes a bath every week. That’s why she looks so radiant,” before revealing that he cleans even less often. “I only wash once a month.” This isn’t the first time fashion’s nonconformist queen has opened up about her bathing habits, or lack thereof. “Normally at home I’m not used to the habit of a shower,” she previously said. “I just wash my bits and rush out in the morning and more often than not get in the bath after Andreas.” The environmentalist also starred in a campaign for animal rights group PETA, which shows her having a shower.

A small but highly important ceramic dish from Imperial China sold for a world record £28 million ($37.7 million) in Hong Kong yesterday. The ‘virtually unobtainable’ brush washer is around 1,000 years old and was commissioned by the imperial court during the Song dynasty. It was made by Ru guanyao, which is one of the most revered of the Five Great Kilns used during this period. The dish, which has a diameter of just 13cm and would have been used to clean brushes, has a glowing, intense blue-green glaze and ‘ice crackle’ pattern. It was offered by Sotheby’s with a guide price of £10 million ($13.24 million), but there was a fierce 20-minute bidding war and the dish eventually sold to an anonymous bidder for £28 million ($37.7 million). The auction house said the person behind the winning proposition wishes to remain anonymous, it’s unknown whether the buyer is from China mainland or elsewhere. The price paid for the dish in Hong Kong is a world record for a Chinese cer

A Medical practitioner, Dr. Kelechi Okoro, has advised Nigerians to shun archaic and religious beliefs that make women feel unclean and unworthy when menstruating. Okoro, the Medical Officer at the Kogi Government House Clinic, gave the advice on Monday in Lokoja at the second day of a two-day health sensitisation programme organised by a corps member, Miss Oyebimpe Olofin. The theme of the programme is: “The adolescent girl and menstrual hygiene.” Kelechi said: “In this part of the world, some people referred to menstruation as a taboo, shameful and dirty. “Some religions also made women to feel like they are unclean and unworthy when menstruating. “The myths, such as: if a menstruating woman touches an animal, it will be infertile; if she touches a plant, it will dry up and die. “If she sleeps in the same bed with her husband, he will be unfortunate or poor; and if she takes her bath, she will remain infertile. “In fact, some female students are so shy to tell someone

As human beings, it’s in our nature to want to be accepted and liked. Remember when you were in school? How much did you want to be in some social circle? The “unpopular” kids were always the cautionary tale – do this, and you’ll be alone. Isolation is deeply wounding to the human heart and psyche. In the long run, excessively worrying about what others think can disturb your ability to feel at ease with yourself around other people. So, why shouldn’t you give the slightest damn about what other people think? HERE ARE TEN GREAT REASONS: 1. LIFE IS FAR TOO SHORT Yep, this one’s numero uno for a goo
