Man Utd Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo tells agent to seal dream Man Utd return

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly extremely keen on a return to Manchester

A dream could become reality for Manchester United fans, after Real Madrid's want-away Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo told his agent, Jorge Mendes, to "do everything possible" to complete his return Old Trafford.

That's according to the Sun, who say Ronaldo, who last week said he had made an "irreversible" decision to leave Real Madrid after being upset at his treatment over accusations of tax fraud, is desperate to go back to his former club.

Rumours over his possible destination have been continuing ever since it became clear that Ronaldo wanted to leave, and Manchester United has been the obvious choice for many, given he spent six years there between 2003 and 2009.

Now, with Ronaldo having instructed 'super agent' Mendes to do everything within his power to complete his return to Old Trafford, a move is even more likely.

Ronaldo has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, but he believes he has unfinished business at United.

In other United news, reports in Italy suggest Jose Mourinho will use David De Gea as a makeweight in any potential deal - as well as the tasty sum of £183 million. That's a hell of a lot of money for a 32-year-old.

De Gea's departure could spark a goalkeeping merry-go-round, with Italy's 18-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma the No 1 target for Mourinho.

Elsewhere, Liverpool's hopes of a deal for Mohamed Salah are stalling, with Roma sticking to their demands of more than £35m, but Jurgen Klopp unwilling to pay so much.
