Man Utd Transfer News: Sergio Ramos makes phone call to Cristiano Ronaldo to block Manchester United transfer
According to METRO, Real Madrid are desperate for Cristiano Ronaldo to remain at the club this summer and individuals at the Bernabeu are stepping in to convince him to stay, according to reports in Spain.
While reports suggest
Madrid’s Pepe is trying to persuade Ronaldo to join him at Paris Saint-Germain
next season, his defensive partner, Sergio Ramos, has other ideas.
Marca claim Ramos has
phoned the Portugal superstar in an attempt to intervene in any possible move
to Old Trafford in the coming months.
It’s understood
Zinedine Zidane also rang Ronaldo as soon as he heard rumours that the
32-year-old could be seeking a sensational move away from the Bernabeu.
Zidane will continue to try and convince Ronaldo to remain in the Spanish capital ahead of the 2017/18 campaign but will not force the four-time Ballon d’Or winner to stay against his will.
The legendary Frenchman, though, has stressed in the past how he will not keep hold of players who are not fully committed to the club.
In addition to Manchester United and PSG, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is also believed to be expressing an interest in Ronaldo this summer.
