CAUTION! These Foods can cause Miscarriage….. avoid them

A mother that is expecting a baby always looks radiant and glowing. Pregnancy is a happy moment, especially when it’s the first child coming. However this is the period where the expectant mother has to be careful with almost everything she does including the food she eats. Women should be careful with what they eat as some food can cause miscarriage.
Among the foods that cause miscarriage, some are more potent in their harmful effects than others. Here are six of them.

1.Pineapple

Pineapple should only be taken when the mother is close to the date of delivery, it should not be taken at the earlier stages of pregnancy. Pineapple is known for its ability to induce contractions beneficial for lab our. It should be avoided at the early stages of pregnancy because it contains  Bromlain and this  can weaken the uterus and cause early contractions.

This food should be avoided as it can cause miscarriage. Papaya is a generally accepted food but not for pregnant women, especially green papaya which is used to soften meat contains enzymes that can also induce contractions in pregnancy which can be fatal for the fetus.

3.Undercooked or Raw Protein

I know that this is one food that is kinda hard to resist but pregnant women have to stay away from this food for the sake of the baby. Undercooked protein can result in miscarriage during pregnancy. Meat is full of protein which when undercooked or raw may contain Toxoplasma Gondi which is a known parasite that can cause a miscarriage. The follow kinds of  meats like salami, pepperoni, mince and sausages. Before eating mean, it should be thoroughly cooked.

4.Liver

There is no consideration for this food, it should be totally avoided by pregnant women. Pregnant women should also check out whatever they eat to ensure that it does not contain liver. Liver from any source be it fish, po*k, be*f, chicken should be totally avoided. Liver contains vitamin A which is a teratogen that can damage the cells of the fetus or cause uterine and cognitive development problems leading to miscarriage.

5.Various Types of Fish

Fish like tilefish, sword fish which have high mercury content need to be avoided. So must your favorite sushi. Certain oily fish like cooked shellfish and white fish can be beneficial for the baby. Sushi is raw fish which might contain parasites so it is best avoided. Ensure that the fish is properly cooked before consumption.

Green Tea

Green tea is not good for pregnant women and should be avoided. Green tea contains 200mg caffeine that can harm the fetus and also cause problems later on where breast milk is concerned.
If pregnant women can apply care and caution while they are pregnant, the stand a lesser chance of experiencing complications. Always remember that is is not just your life as you carry the life of another person in you.
