The Most Famous Country Musicians

In some ways, country music seems to be its own world. Country musicians have their own award ceremonies, music festivals and even their own television channel.
Though country may be niche, its listeners' fervor is well-known. The hooting-and-hollering, cowboy boot-wearing, beer-drinking fans the genre is famous for have helped shape its unique culture.
With this in mind, PrettyFamous, an entertainment visualization site by Graphiq, crunched the numbers to see which country musicians have been the kings and queens of their genre. To determine the most famous country musicians, PrettyFamous ranked each artist by his or her "Country Musician Score," a score from 1-100 which accounts for the following:
  • The number of Country Music Awards (CMAs) a musician has won
  • The artist's Wikipedia page views over the last 30 days
  • The Wikipedia page views of the band that the musician was/is in over the last 30 days (where applicable)
  • The Wikipedia page views of the artist's releases (both solo and in a group)
  • The musician's number of Spotify followers
Note: Ties go to the musician with more CMAs. Because recent Wikipedia page views are taken into consideration, the results tend to favor artists who are popular now, or whose music has stood the test of time. Taylor Swift was also included in the list for her long career and success in country, despite her relatively recent transition to pop.
